Join author Jane Mitchell as she reads from her latest book, Run for Your Life, and provides tips on how to get started with telling a story of your very own. Then have a go at writing your own story! This workshop is aimed at adults who think they might like to write books for children.

Jane Mitchell lives in Dublin and has taught writing to adults in the Irish Writers’ Centre and at numerous festivals and events. Her Amnesty International-endorsed novel A Dangerous Crossing (Little Island), about a Syrian family fleeing the war, has sold more than 100,000 copies worldwide. Jane spent time volunteering at the refugee camp in Calais to research the book. Chalkline (Walker), about child soldiers in Kashmir, won the Children's Choice Award at the 2010 CBI Awards and was also endorsed by Amnesty International. Jane’s most recent book Run For Your Life (Little Island) about a young teen who arrives in Ireland as an asylum seeker has received terrific reviews in the media. It too is endorsed by Amnesty International.
