Join Fionnuala Jay  as she speaks to Tallaght native Vicki Notaro about her debut novel Reality Check.  After spending years as a journalist Vicki combined her writing skills and her fascination with reality tv into a best selling novel.  Vicki always had a love of reading and her fascination with feel good fiction began when she borrowed Watermelon from the Mobile Library.  Vicki puts her own glamorous spin in what we hope is the first of many.

 

Vicki Notaro is a journalist, columnist, former glossy magazine editor and podcaster. In addition, she was managing director of the VIP Publishing Group for four years, up to late 2022. She has been published in Glamour, Lonely Planet, Buzzfeed, Irish Tatler, Image Magazine and The Irish Times, among myriad other print and digital platforms. Reality Check, her first novel, is inspired by her love of reality television, celebrity culture and the United States. Vicki lives in her native Dublin with her husband Joe and their terrier, Jacko.

 

Fionnuala Jay is a broadcaster, podcaster and writer from Co. Cork. Leveraging her background in journalism, she is one of the leading voices on popular culture in Ireland, featuring across shows like The Six O’Clock and Moncrieff, as well as her own podcast Flop Culture. Fionnuala is also a huge advocate for secondhand fashion, and will drag you to the charity shops if you hang around her too long.
