Join bestselling author Emilie Pine as she discusses her debut novel Ruth & Pen with author and academic Paul Perry.


Emilie Pine is Professor of Modern Drama in the School of English, Drama and Film at University College Dublin. She has published widely as an academic and critic. Emilie is also the author of the non-fiction bestseller, Notes to Self: Essays, which has been translated into fifteen languages and was winner of An Post Irish Book of the Year, 2018. Her first novel Ruth & Pen was published in May 2022.  


Paul Perry is the author of over a dozen books of critically acclaimed poetry and prose, including the award winning Gunpowder Valentine, the international best-selling co-authored Karen Perry novel Girl Unknown, and the literary cult novel The Garden. He directs the Creative Writing Programme at UCD where he is an Associate Professor in the School of English. A new collection of poetry Jamais Vu is forthcoming.
