Red Line Festival

The Red Line Festival is a celebration of all things literary; be it spoken, written, sung, played, illustrated, or even just thought!

We are really looking forward to welcoming you all back to South Dublin County for another Red Line Festival. 2022 provides a programme of events and workshops aimed at attracting people of all ages and interests.

The festival seeks to enhance the experience of culturally curious audiences visiting Dublin, offering them an exciting cultural environment in a suburban area of Dublin not normally associated with literary festivals. This year we are expanding the festival beyond the book to include other cultural streams (sport, music, theatre etc). The Red Line Festival features events in quality performance venues such as The Civic, historical buildings including Rathfarnham Castle and Pearse Museum at St. Enda’s Park, along with our fantastic branch libraries across South Dublin County.

This is our 11th year and we are delighted to bring you the best in Irish and International talent. This programme is a year in the making and has been put together with you, our audience, clearly in mind. This year our theme is Inspirations, whether that is to inspire you to write for wellbeing with E.R. Murray, be inspired by Michael Harding or to discover what inspires author Donal Ryan.

We have divided the festival into 6 different strands (Literary, Sport & Wellbeing, Music & Performance, Crime & Horror, Family and As Gaeilge) to make it easier for you to find and choose from our many fantastic events.
